Dysport / Botox are actually brand names for the toxin Botulinium Type A, which has the same cosmetic effect as each other.
The ageing process causes the slow down of collagen and elastin production in the skin so that as we get older these areas of over use become damaged and the lines become permanent. By reducing movement of muscles in these areas, the skin stops being creased and is allowed to recover causing the lines to soften or even fade away.
Botulinum Type A has been approved by the FDA for cosmetic use and has been used for over 30 years without any known long term problems. Most people only experience a mild temporary discomfort. There is a slight redness immediately after which settles within a few hours and application of ice helps and is easily covered with makeup. Within 4 hours of the treatment people are advised not to do vigorous exercise, drink excessive alcohol or lie down flat. Otherwise life can carry on as normal.
Dysport / Botox can also help with hyperhidrosis which is excessive sweating that effects people of all ages.
